Cummins N Power, White Bear Lake, MN

Filtration/Infiltration Basin, 10000 sq. ft.
Client:
Cummins N Power, White Bear Lake, MN
Project:
The new headquarters for Cummins N Power provided an opportunity for a uniquely designed stormwater management system.
Challenge:
To provide a stormwater solution that maximized developable land.
Epic Green Solutions Solution:
The system designed and implemented by Epic Green Solutions is a unique stormwater source control system that uses two infiltration basins constructed with reflex mesh elements in lieu of a traditional retention pond. These specialized infiltration basins are the parking lot islands, which were placed at grade and allow for the stormwater sheet flow of a 2.3 acre sub-watershed.
Results:
These basins collect stormwater run-off from the mostly impervious surfaces off the front of the building and parking lot and drain into the storm sewer system. The infiltration basins provide stormwater pre-treatment and rate control prior to discharge into the storm sewer system as required by the city and watershed. All runoff directed to these two areas is infiltrating into the native sandy soils and no water is entering the city storm sewer system.
